BBO is located 3 miles south of Kent, OH (home of Kent State University), and just 10 miles east of Akron. Cleveland is a mere 45 min drive North, and The Cuyahoga Valley National Park is just 30 minutes away. The area has an active nightlife, restaurants, recreation and local food culture.

Current Openings:

FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER

This is a full time and salaried position. The right person will be extremely detail oriented and love a super clean and organized everything. Additionally, they will have excellent people skills, task management and communication. This person will first and foremost be responsible for making sure our customers have a great experience. They will also manage the team working Front of House to make sure there is seamless communication between front and back, orders, and anything else. They will also be in charge of scheduling the front of house team and filling in personally when surprises arise and another person is needed. There will be regular shifts of this person working the front with the team as well. They will also assist in employee training, discipline and reviews on an ongoing basis. Behind the scenes, this person will also make sure the shop is clean (by personally cleaning and/or directing others to do so) and the product is organized and looking great at all times. We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so the Manager’s schedule will be Wednesdays through Sundays with varying hours based on the week’s activities.

Requirements:

  • Consistent availability and flexibility Wednesday through Sunday

  • 2+ years of past retail experience is a must

  • Managerial experience is preferred, but not required

  • Basic computer skills for Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email, and comfortable with web-based and smartphone apps (wheniwork, slack – we can teach specific app tools)

  • This position is not eligible for overtime pay; however, we do give bonuses where appropriate

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Able to perform physical work for extended periods of time.

  • Able to stand or walk for long periods (5+ hours) without a break.

  • Able to lift and move up to 10lbs constantly, 30lbs frequently, and 50lbs occasionally.

  • Able to work in varied weather conditions (at events) and extreme heat environments (if near the oven).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Able to maintain courteous and helpful behavior.

  • Able to maintain appropriate employee appearance.

  • Able to pass ServSafe Food Handler (or similar) food safety written exam.
